Fiercely proud of their local produce, Tasmania's restaurateurs have packed their menus with home-grown seafood, beef, and cheeses, washed down with their famous cold-climate wines. Tasmanian wine is nearly unknown in the rest of the world, but that's not a comment on its quality; it's because Tasmanians tend to drink the vast majority of it themselves, leaving next to nothing to export.
