Palm Cove

Palm Cove makes a great base for rain-forest and reef activities—hiking, biking, horseback riding, rafting, ballooning, and ATV adventures on the Atherton Tableland; snorkeling, diving, and sailing around the Low Isles and Barrier Reef; sea kayaking just offshore; and scenic flights over just about anywhere a small plane can get on a tank of gas. Though few cruise or tour companies are based in this beachside enclave, many Cairns and Port Douglas–based operators offer Palm Cove transfers.
