Halfway up Sam Mountain (Nui Sam in Vietnamese), this collection of charming stone cottages is a relaxing getaway from the bustle of Mekong Delta towns, but close enough to take day trips in and around Chau Doc—and it has stunning views over brilliant green rice paddies and flood plains. The large rooms are decorated simply, allowing the views to take center stage, and each has a private terrace. The skypool and pool bar and La Giang Restaurant share the magnificent views. An on-site vegetable garden provides some of the produce for the hotel's restaurant and its cooking courses. Victoria Nui Sam Lodge provides a regular shuttle to Chau Doc, which is only 7 km (4 miles) away.
