Between Patong and Karon Beach sits this sprawling resort. There are more bars, cafés, and restaurants in this hotel than in many small towns. Its range of outdoor diversions—everything from tennis to waterskiing—means you never have to leave the property. There are hundreds of guests at any given time, yet the resort never feels too crowded, thanks to its thoughtful design. Two huge wings are where you'll find the sumptuous rooms, which are furnished in teak and rattan. Most have sea views, others overlook the pair of pools. Pros: large swimming pool; excellent activities; private beach. Cons: too big for some; some rooms lack view.
