Sawanoya Ryokan Review

The Shitamachi area is known for its down-to-earth friendliness, which you get in full measure at Sawanoya. This little inn's a family business: everybody pitches in to help you plan excursions and book hotels for the next leg of your journey. It is very popular with budget travelers, so reserve online well in advance. On occasion, the staffers, who manage to keep the facilities and rooms very clean, perform various traditional dances and ceremonies in full costume in the lobby. Japanese bathtubs are near small windows that overlook a small garden. Coffee and tea are complimentary, but the rooms don't have TVs. Smoking is not allowed on the premises.
