Fodor's Review

This great nature preserve lets you wander through the eerie land-before-time rock formations and gorgeous limestone spires of Japan's only tropical karst landscape. Of the three trails, the longer "Strange and Big Rocks Course" marked in yellow makes for a very interesting 1-km (½-mile) scramble. The park is all the way up Route 58 just before the road ends, about an hour from Nago. Afterward you can head to Hedo Misaki, on Okinawa's northernmost tip, for more otherworldly rock formations.
