Maehama Beach Review

Maehama, or as you may see on local signs, Yonaha Maehama, is regarded by many as Japan's best beach, and it lives up to its reputation. White sand stretches for miles on a smooth, shallow shelf extending far into the warm, clear water. Eventually the sand gives way to forests and canyons of coral that provide shelter and playgrounds for beautiful, luminescent aquatic creatures. A tiny slice of Maehama can keep you entertained all day, but it actually stretches for 7 km (4.4 mi). At the Tokyu Resort are water-sports equipment rentals and a marina. The beach is 25 minutes from Hirara via bus.
