The best thing about this hotel is its location, directly across from Nijo-jo. If your room faces the castle rather than another high-rise, you can be assured that you are indeed in Kyoto. The roof garden has spectacular 360-degree views of the city and surrounding mountains, and from the lobby you can see a delicate waterfall cascading into a courtyard pond. The sheer white, voluptous beds make the rooms a bit snug, but with all this beauty around you, you won't spend much time in them.
