ANA Hotel Kyoto Review

This is not the best of the city's chain hotels, especially considering that the rooms and hallways need refurbishing. But the location, directly across from Nijo-jo Castle, is dynamite. You're close to the shopping districts, but won't be overwhelmed by constant crowds. If you can get a room facing the castle rather than an ugly high-rise, your view will be sensational. The roof garden has a great 360-degree view of the city and surrounding mountains.
