Sandwiched between the roar of the Arabian Sea and the ripple of a backwater lagoon, this basic resort north of Kovalam is accessible only by boat. Ayurvedic treatments and plenty of quiet are the main draws. Midsize rooms in a whitewashed, one-story building are simply furnished and well maintained, with private sit-outs (patios) facing the lagoon. A two-minute walk gets you to the public beach. The resort added a new wing in 2006 holding six deluxe rooms with larger bedrooms and bathtubs.
