Lined with street-food-style stalls, this wildly popular dining hall has been dishing up specialities of the Yangtze wetlands since 1994. Waterfowl is the big draw; try Nanjing's famous salted duck, served sliced on the bone, or a steamer full of duck dumplings. Appetizers and soups focusing on the area's vegetables offer light relief from the more starchy offerings. Order from the picture menu (with tiny English translations) or get up and browse, pointing to what you want and giving your table number to one of the costumed attendants. There are five locations around town, but this is the original and the best.
