Mountain Sanctuary Park

  • Practical Base

Fodor's Review

This wilderness retreat offers both campsites and comfortable self-catering cottages with electricity, hot water, and cooking facilities. Don't let the rather terse list of rules at the entrance put you off; the owners are fiercely protective of this little piece of paradise—and justly so. The emphasis is on the surrounding 2,200 acres of mountains, pools, waterfalls, and streams, where you can hike a different route every day—each more beautiful than the last. Pets

and radios are forbidden, but children are welcome.
