Fodor's Review

Two waterfalls and a natural bridge both located a short walk from the village of Akshour, a 40-minute drive from Chefchaouen toward Oued Laou on the coast, are the highlights of any trip into the heart of the Rif mountains. The path to the first waterfall is an easy 45-minute walk. From there, you have the option of continuing on a five-to-six-hour round-trip hike to a second, much larger waterfall. On the other side of the river, you can either head up on a very steep path to the so-called "God's Bridge" itself, a natural bridge, or follow the canyon to a view from below. Be prepared to wade a little if the water is high. Small bungalow cafés offering vegetable tagines and mint tea sprinkle the path, as do wildflowers and small wildlife. Be aware that some locals will try to sell you things, some of them illegal.
