Peruse a quirky collection of secondhand books, participate in the Monday quiz nights, come for dinner, or just have a light lunch of salade riche with spiced chickpeas, caramelized onions, beetroot, goat cheese, and grated carrot. Café du Livre has been popular with locals and expats over the past decade and has recently been acquired by an American-Moroccan couple. Apart from ethnic-food nights, there are plenty of vegetarian options and American-style burgers.
This upstairs café is tucked behind the Carré Eden shopping mall, just next to the Hotel Toulousaine. There's live music Friday and Saturday, but it can get very smoky.
