For high-octane creative types who want real style, Vanessa Branson (sister of the British entrepreneur) has created this riad "adventure." Behind an anonymous door hidden down a derb in the western reaches of the medina is a palace of individually conceived rooms designed with a stylish modern aesthetic. Most guests stay four to five days—some even two weeks—and together with the staff they create an atmosphere worthy of a private club. Breakfast is included, but other meal plans are available. Pros: Dripping with good taste; an exclusive vibe; accessible to travelers with disabilities. Con: Very expensive.
