Everyone in the know wants to stay here. For high-octane creative types who want understated style, Vanessa Branson's (Richard's sister) riad "adventure" is where it's at. Behind an anonymous door hidden down a derb in the west of the medina is a palace of individually conceived rooms designed with a stylish modern aesthetic. Most guests stay four to five days—some even two weeks—and together with the staff they create an atmosphere worthy of a top-notch private club.
