Fodor's Expert Review Le Mantra

Authentic Indian cuisine has finally arrived in Marrakesh, and in splendid fashion. The Taj Palace Hotel has lavish Oriental styling throughout by American architect Stuart Church. Within the hotel is Le Mantra restaurant, which serves not just classic Indian cuisine, but also Japanese sushi and teriyaki dishes from a show kitchen. There's also a menu for children. Decor is plush and exotic, with purple carpets, Thai silks, bamboo ceilings, and Chinese lanterns. Locals in the know, as well as residents of Taj Palace, come here to get their fix of fenugreek and other spices with a bit more pep than are traditionally found in Morocco.
