Before booking a hotel, lodge, or camp in Kenya, check to see if the property has been rated by Ecotourism Kenya (www.ecotourismkenya.org). Ratings are given based on the properties’ efforts to promote environmental, social, and economic values. Participation is voluntary on the part of the hotel, lodge, or camp, but ratings are determined by a preset list of criteria.
