The northernmost luxury hotel on the Yarkon Street strip, the Hilton is perched on a cliff and buffered on three sides from urban life by the green spaces of Independence Park. It has direct access to the beach, and for lovers of salt water but not sand, the large seawater pool is another option.Together with the spa and the guest rooms, it has recently been fully renovated. In addition to enjoying the excellent, eclectic cuisine at the intimate King Solomon Restaurant, serving everything from pan-fried duck breast on steamed Chinese cabbage and five-spice rice to sea bream with Kalamata olive tapenade and remoulade sauce, you can grab a bite at the Café Med or at the sushi bar that has a seaside view. Business travelers will find a particularly good array of services, especially its two lounges, which have a beautiful, uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean that will make you think you're on a cruise ship. Pros: separate shower stalls in many rooms; the lap of luxury with all that guests would expect of the chain. Cons: at the end of the hotel strip, somewhat detached from the city on the edge of Independence Park, parts of which are seedy though now undergoing renovation.
