It's easy to understand why this grande dame was a personal favorite of Israel's founding prime minister, David Ben-Gurion: its location right on the lake is unbeatable, and its spa is a soothing complex suffused with incense and candles. A large whirlpool gurgles away in its own glassed-in gazebo. Guest rooms are nicely decorated, but they are neither extraordinary enough nor large enough to justify the painfully high rate. Breakfast and either lunch (on weekends) or
dinner are included.
