Fodor's Expert Review Mama Salt Room & Cafe

$$ Nazareth Café

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Leen Shomar Mansour, the “Mama” of the Salt Bar and Cafe, was driving her child 45 minutes to the nearest salt room (a therapy for respiratory ailments) to treat afflictions when she decided to bring the therapy to Nazareth. Opening the café was a natural extension: what would the parents drink while waiting for the child’s treatment to finish? Serve only high-quality Italian coffee and homemade desserts, of course. Locals and in-the-know tourists have been flocking here ever since. Great music, always-fresh salads, fruit smoothies, sandwiches, beer, wine, and an undeniable European vibe make this a great destination to break up a touring day in Nazareth. On Thursday and Friday, the café serves dinner.
