If you can't fit tea or drinks at the top of the Edifício Itália into your Centro tour, get your panoramic view of the city atop the 36-floor BANESPA Building. It was inaugurated in 1947 and modeled after New York's Empire State Building. A radio traffic reporter squints through the smog every morning from here.
