Odyssey of the Seas

There are a wide variety of cabin types for every budget on the Odyssey of the Seas, including multi-room and multi-level suites. The most affordable staterooms are windowless interior rooms—suitable for sleeping but not much else, though Virtual Balcony staterooms, a step up in the interior room category, utilize floor-to-ceiling displays provide a hi-tech ocean view and are a step up in the interior room category. 

Ocean View and Balcony cabins include balconies with outdoor furniture, a respite for passengers wanting to relax with a book and a cup of tea. The suites on board the ship give passengers with more financial means access to larger cabins, some with multiple floors, and specialized services like priority departure, concierge services, luxury bathroom amenities, and complimentary beverages, and even free specialty dining. 

All staterooms include an HDTV, twice daily turndown service, and select cabins have the ability to connect to the room next door for larger groups or families. There are no single occupancy studio staterooms on board Odyssey of the Seas.

The Odyssey of the Seas can accommodate any special needs as the ship is designed for guests with mobility limitations and other disabilities. Accessible staterooms range from 159 square feet to 298 square feet and offer a generous five-foot turning radius in the sleeping areas and bathrooms, in addition to sitting areas with features that all for easy navigation for passengers with limited mobility. The width of the entry and bathroom doors in these rooms is wider than the standards (32” – 34”), bathrooms include grab bars and roll-in showers, as well as a lowered sink, vanity, and closet rods for easy reach. Furthermore, raised toilet seats, lowered safes, and no doorsill to maneuver are smart touches. Worth noting: After booking an accessible stateroom, passengers will be required to complete an online form that acknowledges their special need for an accessible stateroom. 

Whereas the Royal Caribbean sports bar Playmakers is tucked into the Boardwalk on Oasis class ships, here on Odyssey, you’ll munch on nachos and wings, and enjoy craft beers while watching not only the biggest soccer and cricket matches, and baseball and football games on a myriad of TVs, but also on the big screen above where bumper cars crunch, archery is practiced, and roller skating and other activities occur on the SeaPlex surface below. 

Other Royal Caribbean staples of the specialty dining scene are here on board too, including the gourmet sushi of Izumi, freshly made food and fun at Teppanyaki, the imaginative Wonderland with the Mad Hatter down the rabbit hole, fine steaks at Chops Grille, casually upscale Italian at Giovanni’s Kitchen and Wine Bar, and of course the Main Dining Room. As with most Royal ships, the complimentary dining destinations may begin to feel limited after a few days of eating in the MDR, Sorrento’s Pizza, and the Windjammer or Solarium buffets. The ship boasts 15 total dining destinations; there’s even a Starbucks.

Phenomenal British singers and guitarists make having a nightcap in the English pub Crown & Compass on the Promenade a perfect way to end a wonderful day at sea or port. For a more futuristic bar experience, employ the robotic arms of the Bionic Bar to make and mix your cocktail. A total of six bars, each serving custom Royal Caribbean cocktails, classic drinks, wine, beer, and cider, will make sure your good times roll on while cutting through the Earth’s waterways. 

Royal’s original superhero franchise theatrical show, The Effectors, is exclusively on this brand new ship, as is The Book, an immersive theatrical journey told through a mix of storytelling methods that uses dance, technology and enormous set pieces in a transformative multi-media entertainment venue called Two70 located at the back of the ship. The observation capsule Northstar takes guests over 300 feet above sea level for unparalleled 360-degree views, while back down on the decks is Ripcord by iFly, giving passengers the chance to safely skydive, the Skypad bungee trampoline, VR games, a massive and beautiful Music Hall venue for live jazz, R&B, funk and rock concerts as well as where guests will play their games of bingo, a comedy club, casino that will be open in international waters, and of course the Royal Theater where the headliner music and theater shows are performed.

The ship’s fitness center has sea views to enjoy while running, biking, or lifting weights, and is available to guests without charge 24/7. Training classes including yoga, Pilates, spinning, sculpting and more are led by instructors daily with an additional fee applying.

The Vitality Spa offers an array of treatments, from massages to facials, acupuncture to tooth whitening. There is also a salon for hair and nail services. All spa treatments are supplementary.
