The hikes were great. Did plan to do some more out at Cajas but I think I "caught" your bad back on the night bus from Piura to Cuenca!

YT. - how was the drive from Latacunga to Otavalo? Did you make any stops on the way? Thinking of doing the same thing in May on our way into Colombia (we have no great desire to return to Quito).

We rode the train from Quito to Machachi and back...

We rode the train from Quito to Machachi and back along the "Avenue of Volcanoes" and didn't see one! I'm not entirely sure they really exist!!! Good luck at Cotopaxi .

hi YT some really nice hikes around Vilcabamba. Especially the hike up to Podocarpus National Park the views from the top are amazing ( assuming its not raining of course!).
