I think missing the Gorge and other parts of the East coast is a good reason to go later when things are open. The gorge is spectacular and I would not want to miss it.

The stone carvings were my favorite. One could spend hours there as there was a lot to take in. I'm glad we arrived before the tour buses as it was nice to wander on our own.
