BTW nalijo - you were really lucky with the Syrian visa - I guess your guide must have an "in" with the border guards. You're supposed to get your visa in your home country if there's an embassy...

The Syrian visa was one of the easiest I've ever...

The Syrian visa was one of the easiest I've ever gotten (I applied with my US passport at the Washington embassy). It took 48 hours include FedEx time.
