Voletea Air - how strict are they with carry one size?

We will be flying from Sevilla to Donastia in May and wondered how strict they were with carry on luggage. I have a soft squishy carry on that, when laid out, measure 1 inch longer than they say is allowed. I can squash it to the required size but didn't know if they would allow that.

They don't measure bags with a ruler - they use a sizer box. If its 'squishy' enough to fit in the sizer it will be OK -- if not, then not . . .

Perfect! Thanks. When I flew Iceland a a few years ago, the gate attendant was super strict on bag size.

Well -- at any time the gate agents do have the final say. Volotea's cabin bag size is a bit different than most US-based airlines . . . same length (21+ inches), a bit wider (15+ in vs 14 in US standard). Where they typically get you is on the depth -- only 7+ in vs 9 in US.
