The Best Restaurant in Chiclayo, The North Coast and Northern Highlands

Much like Trujillo, Chiclayo and Lambayeque offer seco de cabrito, causas, and tortilla de raya (skate omelet). The area is more famous for King Kong, a large, crispy pastry that was invented around the time that the original movie premiered. It features manjar blanco, a sweet filling made of sugar, condensed milk, and cinnamon boiled down until it's thick and chewy.

Pizzeria Venecia

$

This hugely popular Italian restaurant serves decent pizza on a wooden block fresh from the oven. The list of toppings is extensive, and there are some pasta choices as well. You might have to wait on the street to get in, and, once inside, you'll feel the almost-stifling heat from the pizza ovens, but you're guaranteed good food and old-country charm. The restaurant also delivers and has additional locations around town.
