The Best Sight in Cali, Southwest Colombia

Background Illustration for Sights

Within the rapidly expanding city (it has grown fourfold in the past 40 years) you'll find a small colonial quarter, some interesting museums, and many leafy parks. The city's tree-lined avenues and lazy open-air cafés invite you to linger. In the center is the Paseo de Bolívar, a large park on the north bank of the muddy Río Cali. To the south are the main sights, including most of the interesting old churches.

Museo de la Caña de Azucar

Cali is Colombia's premier sugarcane-growing area, and this museum in the countryside east of the city offers a brief history of the industry and processes. The grounds around the museum are gorgeous, with sprawling and perfectly kept gardens worth exploring.
