15 Best Hotels in Bogotá, Colombia
Many of Bogotá's better hotels are in the wealthy northern districts—the most alluring parts of the city, and also the safest (with security guards on nearly every corner). If you want to soak up the color of the colonial buildings, or are on a tight budget, book a room in La Candelaria. Since much of the hotel traffic is weekday business travelers, many hotels offer sizeable discounts for weekend stays; be sure to investigate and plan accordingly—you could save hundreds of dollars.

Hotel Boutique Casona de Usaquen
On the other side of an impressive entrance gate, this once-traditional-style home is now an intimate boutique hotel in the heart of Usaquen. Rooms are impeccably clean, with new, modern furnishings, and some have the charming added touch of an electric fireplace. Generally, the quality reflects the midrange price, decent all around but lacking the refined touches---soundproofing or modernized bathrooms---to make it a resounding winner.
Great option if you're traveling with a large group.
Hotel Casa Deco
Hotel de la Ópera
This pair of colonial buildings adjacent to the Teatro Colón in La Candelaria found new life as an elegant hotel. The sleek tile and polished hardwood floors throughout are remarkable, as is the chic furniture imported from Italy. The generously proportioned rooms have high ceilings and huge windows, and some have balconies that open out onto a quiet side street. The Mediterranean cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, La Scala, is wonderful, while regional dishes are accompanied by spectacular views at El Mirador, on the top floor. There is a first-rate spa, too.

The Orchids Hotel
Santa Lucia Hotel Boutique Spa
Just a few blocks from Bogotá’s colorful colonial heart, this restored 19th-century manor is an island of calm in the bustle of the city center. Rooms, set around an open central courtyard with a vertical garden, are spacious, with comfortable beds and basic furnishings. The restoration lacks a little authenticity, losing some of the historic charm, but the location, reasonable pricing, and friendly staff outweigh any potential negatives. Breakfast is basic fruit and eggs, but it's well prepared and will fill your belly. There's an on-site gym as well as a small sauna, and a spa with treatments that use local fruits, cacao, or olive oil as a base.
