35 Best Hotels in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas

Background Illustration for Hotels

The Dallas lodging scene has gotten swankier recently with the addition of high profile hotels, including the W, the Ritz-Carlton, and the Hotel Palomar. Still, most of the options are standard chains, the same you'll find across the country, with varying degrees of individuality and charm. There is no paucity of hotel rooms in Dallas, and you can pretty much find the usual range of rooms, from exceptional places fit for a king or queen to less impressive quarters to those that barely pass muster. There are few hotels in low price ranges that are worthy of recommendation.

Downtown Fort Worth is where you'll find the city's financial core, most of its historic buildings, and Sundance Square. The Stockyards and adjacent Western-theme stores, restaurants, and hotels are a few miles north of Downtown, clustered around Main Street and Exchange Avenue.

  • Unique experience in ideal location

W Dallas–Victory

$$$$ | 2440 Victory Park Lane, Dallas, TX, 75219, USA Fodor's Choice

The first hotel in Dallas's burgeoning Victory Park makes a dramatic statement, altering the Uptown skyline with a 33-story tower topped with glowing blue light. The crowd here is trend-conscious and pampered, and the decor is comfortable and minimalist—eggplant-colored walls, neutral bed linens, low-profile furniture. Look for some whimsical nods to the chain's first Texas setting, including a curtain of cowboys, horses, and cows in the lobby. The W is just steps from the American Airlines Center—home to the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and the NHL's Dallas Stars—and minutes from Downtown.

Pros

  • Gracious service
  • Proximity to American Airlines Center
  • Hip scene

Cons

  • Awkward room design that allows no privacy between shower and bedroom

The romantic European-style rooms, filled with unique floral prints and Queen Anne–style furniture, have modern amenities. A courtesy van takes guests to Downtown and Uptown sites and NorthPark Mall. Book early to stay at the hotel during the annual Neiman Marcus Adolphus Children's Parade, which marches in front of hotel the first Saturday in December.
