Fodor's Expert Review Roost
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
At this simple, somewhat underrated neighborhood bistro with a bare cement floor, two walls of windows, and minimalist blond-wood tables and chairs, chef Megan Henzel turns out some of the most delicious weekend brunch fare in town, and the wait for a table is usually manageable, especially if you arrive when it opens at 10 am. The gorgeously presented cod cakes with poached eggs, dill sour cream, and sautéed spinach is a favorite, while ricotta pancakes with maple syrup, berries, and bacon please those with a sweet tooth. Dinner here is a treat, too, and a bargain, with most of the sophisticated modern-American entrées clocking in around $20.
