Evening entertainment is modest in Taos, but a few cool and distinctive nightspots keep things interesting for night owls. In addition to the bars listed here, note that a few restaurants in town are fun for bar options, too, including Old Martina’s Hall in Ranchos de Taos, Medley in El Prado, Sabroso in Arroyo Seco, and 192 at the Blake in Taos Ski Valley.
This legendary bar at the Historic Taos Inn has free live music (please tip the musicians), epic margaritas, and a packed dance floor. Talented acts range from singer-songwriters to fiery flamenco dancers. It's also a favorite spot for happy hour—there's a great menu of appetizers and cocktails, and the patio is a lovely place to sit and people-watch on warm evenings.
Housed in the oldest adobe structure in downtown Taos, this friendly spot has live jazz, folk, rock, and blues music, as well as shuffleboard, pool, and board games for those not inclined to dance. The bar stays open until midnight (the kitchen closes at 9 pm) making it one of the only late-night spots in town.
