If you travel with your dog, you've just found your new favorite B&B. What began as a stagecoach stop has been operating as an inn almost continuously since 1845, and when Laura and Steven Sousa took it over they made sure to welcome your four-legged friends. The barn became a "doggie lodge" with a number of runs. They'll also care for your pooch during the day while you explore the Lakes Region or the White Mountains (doggie day care is included in the room rate). It's an exceptional niche, but it's not done at the expense of the rooms, which are the niceest and best furnished within miles.
