Fodor's Expert Review Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill

$$$$ Caesars Palace British

Three things stand out at this comfortable, casual restaurant, conceptualized by tyrannical celeb chef Gordon Ramsey: the libations, the cheery across-the-pond ambience, and the elevated British pub grub—in that order. The cocktails are strong and diverse, but it's the beer here that's to die for. Drinks have names like “The Mule's Hind Leg” and “God Save the Queen.” Well, pip pip cheerio and all that rot. Slake your thirst with a Boddingtons imported draft or Crispin cider. Choose from 99 brews and hum along with classic Brit pop and rock tunes and watch soccer on any of numerous flat-screen tellys. Seating is easy on the bum—the place settings rich and lovely and rustic. Bread isn’t complimentary and the service and food can be spotty, but when all goes well, it’s smashing. Grilled burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads follow notable starters such as shrimp cocktail and Scotch eggs. The steak and ale pie, oak-grilled meats, roasted salmon, crispy fish-and-chips, and lobster mac and cheese are standouts. Warm sticky toffee pudding has fans aplenty.
