Williamsburg Sampler Bed & Breakfast Inn
Charming and hospitable, this redbrick inn near the historic district is modeled after a plantation-style house from the 1700s. Rooms have 18th- and 19th-century antiques, pewter pieces, four-poster beds, and pleasant views of the city. The suites are particularly inviting: each has a separate sitting room, French doors, and a porch overlooking gardens. There are no phones in the rooms, but local calls are free from the inn's foyer.
Willkommen Hof B&B
The two-story European-style Gasthof (guesthouse), built in 1920 at the foot of Whiteface Mountain, has a large porch and a deck. Fireplaces, skylights, and whirlpool tubs are among the extras in some rooms. The three-room suite includes a sitting room with a TV and a bedroom with bunk beds. The dining room is centered on a German Kachelofen (tile stove) and features a traditional German Stammtisch (corner booth for regulars) and an English-style bristle dartboard. Breakfast for overnight guests includes apple pancakes and blintzes.

The Willows Hotel Chicago
Designed in a slightly quirky French provincial style, the cozy lobby of this small boutique hotel with a 1920's-era vibe opens onto a tree-lined street in Lakeview. The Willows is just three blocks from the lake and central to Broadway Avenue boutiques, restaurants, and movie theaters. A prime location equally close to Lincoln Park and Wrigley Field makes it a great destination for a North Side stay.
The Winchester Inn
Rooms and suites in this upscale Victorian have character and restful charm—some have fireplaces, refrigerators, and wet bars, and private exterior entrances, and most are well suited to having one or two children in the room. Not only are the meals smashing, the location is smack-dab in the center of Ashland's hopping theater scene. The celebrated restaurant, Alchemy, relies upon locally grown produce, fresh fish and meats, including liberal use of herbs from its own garden. The breakfasts are works of art.
Windermere on the Beach
It's all about the location at this friendly, family-run collection of bungalows set directly on an oceanfront bluff less than a mile south of Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint and offering prime access to a spectacular beach. Rooms are spacious and casually but comfortably decorated, and the two-story family cottages sleep up to six guests and have kitchens, making them ideal for longer stays.
The Windsor Suites
This modern, 24-story all-suites hotel close to the Parkway museums and Center City's restaurants, shopping, and nightlife caters to corporate business travelers (some on extended stays) as well as vacationing families, and features both studio and good-size one-bedroom spaces. A tiered lobby has some elements evoking Benjamin Franklin, such as quotes from him on a wall. Guest rooms are characterized by their muted neutral color scheme, plus bells and whistles like a kitchen area equipped with a Keurig coffeemaker; some have balconies. The rooftop Skydeck has a firepit and small infinity pool, and Skyline Club Level suites offer upgraded amenities like a 65-inch smart TV. Downstairs are Con Murphy's, an Irish-themed pub with multiple seating areas and a well-rounded menu, and Asia on the Parkway, serving Asian fusion fare. The pub's breakfast hours aren't great for guests who want to buy an early breakfast. One thing to be aware of: regular (permanent) apartment tenants occupy more than 100 additional apartments in the building.
Wine & Roses Hotel
Set on 7 acres amid a tapestry of informal gardens and with most guest rooms decorated in rich earth tones or soothing blues and purples, this hotel has cultivated a sense of refinement typically associated with Napa or Carmel. The palette in the spa rooms, which have nearly the same amenities, is softer and more soothing; some rooms have fireplaces, and all have Wi-Fi access that, along with access to the pool and fitness center. Discounts on tastings at the adjacent Lodi Wine & Visitors Center is included in the daily $20 resort fee, and the on-site Towne House restaurant is deservedly popular. After a dip in the pool or a meal at the restaurant, you can head to the spa for a facial or herbal body scrub.

The hot-and-cold breakfast buffet is served in a cheery common room.
