The good news is that you're sure to escape the crowds on this quaint island. The bad news is that Lanai has limited accommodation options, including the pricey Four Seasons Resort Lanai, or the relatively budget-friendly Hotel Lanai (which closed for renovations in mid-2018). Four Seasons Resort's Lodge at Koele has also closed for renovations, though there's talk it will reopen as a destination spa in early 2019.
Built in 1923 to house visiting pineapple-industry executives, this historic inn is like new following a massive renovation that supplied state-of-the-art amenities to complement a modern design while keeping a dash of vintage charm. Several rooms have porches overlooking the pine trees and Lanai City. A separate one-bedroom cottage offers more privacy. The restaurant, Lanai City Bar & Grill, has an outstanding menu and well-stocked bar.
