The 100-year old inn is a charming as ever, but now a little brighter and more modern inside and out. Rooms and common spaces are beautifully and brightly decorated in neutral tones, with unique antique pieces and signature fireplaces creating a stylish ambiance while maintaining the legacy of the building. There are also two cabins on property for a little more privacy. Each stay includes a homemade breakfast featuring local and seasonal produce, and an afternoon wine reception where you can sample a glass of Beechwood labeled Georgia wine along with gourmet bites.

This restored country inn and restaurant, constructed in 1875 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has a rustic but polished charm. Nestled in a quiet out-of-the-way location on 17 beautifully landscaped acres, the inn's well-appointed rooms feature antiques and attractive furnishings. There are no TVs in the rooms, but they are available in the large garden room, complete with snacks and comfortable seating, as well as in the lobby. You can play volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, or croquet, or try out the mini-putting green on the grounds. There's also a saltwater pool. The restaurant is open for dinner service most evenings. Reservations are recommended.

Lake Rabun Hotel

Set in shady hemlocks across the road from Lake Rabun, this romantic hotel, built in 1922, has rough-hewn wood paneling, handmade furniture, and a large working fieldstone fireplace. The hotel's restaurant, a favorite in the area, is open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday and for brunch and dinner on Sunday from April to December. Call ahead for winter hours. For those desiring a little more privacy, there's a lovely cottage on-site and additional "Fish Camp" cottages nearby. A few of the cottages are even pet friendly.
