The Whitley

$$$ | 3434 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA, 30326, USA

An excellent location for high-end shopping, the Whitley boasts clientele that’s just as upscale. The smallish lobby invites you to linger, with lighter takes on club seating, paintings of flora and fauna native to Georgia, a gilded deer statue and fireplace all a part of the warm welcome. Approachable luxury in the spacious rooms and celebrity-status suites—one includes a pool table—brought the hotel a more modern look when it transitioned from the Ritz-Carlton in 2019. The stuffiness is gone, and not much remains except the Italian marble in the baths. Bay windows in each room add to the big, at-home feel.

Pros

  • Directly across from both Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza
  • Sizable fitness room
  • Spa with Himalayan salt room

Cons

  • Pricey valet service
  • Crowds when major events are in town
