ABOUT
Pockets of modernity notwithstanding, this commercial fishing town retains the workaday vibe of its cinematic turn in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963). Little from the film's era remains save the windswept bay and ocean views. (For the ocean ones, drive west from Highway 1, Eastshore to Bay Flat to Westshore.) To the east in the town of Bodega, the film's schoolhouse still stands, at Bodega Lane off Bodega Highway.
