The Hacienda at Warm Sands
586 S Warm Sands Dr., Palm Springs, California 92264, United StatesWhy We Like It
The room-to-pool ratio is a big win, as is the fact that most rooms are suites, many with kitchens. In terms of gay, nude resorts, The Hacienda is located in the Warm Sands enclave, surrounded by other gay-friendly, clothing-optional hotels, many of which host mixers depending on the night, the season, or the property. For the introverted or folks who want a quieter experience, The Hacienda is more intimate than many other Warm Sands properties. And their desire to develop relationships to create returning clientele is evident in both the concierge service and personal details.
Fodor's Expert Review
Aiming for an upscale experience, the concierge service at male-only, clothing-optional The Hacienda is impressive. If you wish to impress a certain special travel companion, or just love knowing a certain brand of wine or type of flower bouquet will be waiting in your room, their staff enjoys creative requests and providing personal service. Guests may even check-in to find a pillow embroidered with their first name has been placed on the bed.

Room
Truly a boutique experience, the hotel has only 10 rooms, almost all of them suites. Rooms have Wi-Fi and offer a romantic coziness. The exotic mix of decor includes French doors and hand-crafted Indonesian teak headboards. All rooms offer patio access; Deluxe type suites include kitchens.
Bathroom
Each bathroom is a little different, though all have spacious vanities and showers. In the Patio room and Deluxe suites, for example, the Spanish-tile counters, floors, and showers add warmth against the white and chrome fixtures, while the Junior Suite has a basin sink resting atop a charming antique cabinet.
Lobby
Guests enter the gated grounds through a large wooden door, under a pergola, and walk through gardens, past the pools, and a fountain before entering the building. As with most Palm Springs hotels, the flow between indoor and outdoor is effortless, so a breezy seating area that’s technically indoors is just feet away from the outdoor fountain with an open cutout separating the two.
Pool
The swimsuit-optional pool area boasts two pools, an in-ground hot tub, and a fireplace.
Spa
There’s no on-site spa, but in-room massages in a variety of styles (Swedish, deep-tissue, sports) can be arranged with hotel staff.
Dining
Served daily is an extensive continental breakfast of fresh fruits, juices,
European-styled pastries, bagels and cream cheese, cereals, eggs, cheese
and ham and fresh-brewed coffee. Included in the room rates is a catered
restaurant-prepared lunch with a broad selection of freshly prepared salads,
wraps and sandwiches, each with interesting sides, and an accompanying
beverage (fresh-brewed iced tea, lemonade or wine). Lunch is served on
china plates either poolside or in-suite.
You Should Know No restaurant here, but suites can be stocked with snacks and foods, as well as a limited assortment of alcoholic beverages.
