Fodor's Expert Review Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort

Since it was established in 1904, Oaklawn has grown into one of the country's top thoroughbred racetracks and the state's top tourist attraction. Live racing is held from late January through early May, culminating with the Arkansas Derby. Year-round, Oaklawn offers simulcast racing and a sprawling casino with craps and blackjack tables and a dizzying array of slot machines. In 2019, a $100 million-plus development project added an expanded casino, a new restaurant, a high-rise hotel overlooking the track, and a multipurpose event center.
