Fodor's Expert Review Junior Ranger Program

Grand Canyon North Rim Family
Free

Children ages four and up can be sworn in as junior rangers at the South Rim after completing designated tasks, including attending a ranger-led program, drawing the canyon, and writing a poem. Similarly, those that hike or ride a mule to the canyon's bottom, regardless of age, can earn a Grand Canyon Explorer Junior Ranger merit badge. Pick up a South Rim activity book at the Grand Canyon Conservancy Main Store, Yavapai Geology Museum, or Kolb Studio. You can pick up the guide for the Grand Canyon Explorer program at corridor trail campgrounds or backcountry ranger stations.
