If you're planning on staying in Vancouver for longer than a few days, the Lord Stanley Suites on the Park offer apartment-style living in a modern high-rise at the edge of Stanley Park. With great views, a great location, and a reasonable price, this property is a great fit for travelers planning an extended trip to the Vancouver area.
All the suites at the Lord Stanley Suites on the Park come equipped with laundry, a kitchenette, dining area, small office space, and separate sleeping area. While the suites aren't going to win any design awards, they're comfortable and spacious.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Some of the suites at the Lord Stanley Suites on the Park are more updated than others. Make sure to request an updated room, especially in the summer—the older A/C units are notorious for being loud and bothersome.
Bathrooms in the older suites have a fun, retro vibe with pink and white checkered walls while newer rooms have a more neutral gray tile. Each bathroom comes equipped with a tub and shower and plenty of shelf and counter space.
The lobby is pretty standard of what you'd find in an apartment building—nothing to write home about. The only real reason to visit the lobby of this property is for check-in or check-out.
The Lord Stanley Suites on the Park has a fitness room that features everything you need to get your sweat on, including free weights, cardio machines, and fitness balls.
A continental breakfast is included in your stay which includes the standard fruit, yogurt, and toast spread as well as a make-your-own waffle station.
Make sure you set your alarm to make it to breakfast—the continental breakfast only runs for 2 hours each day, from 7am to 9am.
There is no on-site drinking at the Lord Stanley Suites on the Park.
If you bring a car, you can park in the hotel's underground garage for $25 per night or try your luck with free street parking in the neighborhood. You can just as easily get around on foot or hop on a bus to explore other areas of the city (there are two bus stops within 5 minutes of the hotel).
For dinner, try Tavola (3-minute walk), a family-style Italian restaurant known for exceptional house-made pasta dishes. While all the dishes are great, the sweet and savory gnocchi with brown sage butter and hazelnuts is a definite standout. For Asian cuisine, try Motomachi Shokudo (2-minute), where you can find an impressive selection of Japanese classics, including ramen, which the restaurant is known for (try to charcoal ramen for a smoky twist on the classic noodle dish).
For great cocktails and great views, try Lift Bar and Grill (6-minute walk), which has a rooftop bar with amazing views of the city (stop by on Thursdays for 25% off all signature cocktails). If you're more in the mood for a brew, try The Blind Sparrow (2-minute walk), where you can sample from 12 local beers on tap.
