Fuego Brew Co.

Fodor's choice

With an on-site, full-scale brewery below and a rancho restaurant above, this hip brewpub with live music most Fridays has become the liveliest nightspot in town. Belly up to the long bar, relax in a quieter lounge area, or take a table overlooking the garden and the Barú River estuary. Beer-battered tacos, tuna poke, and pizza accompany the 12+ beers on tap; you can order a flight of four ales to taste, then order your favorite. It's open till midnight.

The Bamboo Room

Ojochal has a live-music outlet at sunset on most Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at the Bamboo Room in the Alma Hotel. They showcase local and guest musicians playing popular music for grown-ups, from oldies to jazz to country. Check Facebook for the music lineup.

Fish Hook Marina & Lodge

The curved, polished-wood bar at this marina is cooled by breezes off Golfito Bay. It's a pleasant place to meet locals, tell fish tales, and sit and watch the sunset over the bay. Drink specials, including 2 for 1 cocktails are offered all day long.

Monkey Wine Bar

Follow the “Whole Foods” logo to this food market–meets–bakery–meets wine bar where you can catch live music on Fridays from 7 to 9:30 pm. Mix and mingle with a cocktail, glass of wine, or even liquor from the attached market. Happy hour is daily 5–7 pm. It’s a pricey spot, but hey, you’re in paradise.

Mosaic Wine Bar

One of the coolest bars in Uvita was appropriately birthed out of conversation and cocktails among friends. That 2017 discussion of “what if” popped the cork on a jungle wine bar that brings sushi, charcuterie, and over 40 bottles from around the globe to your table. Not sure what to order? Just ask Casey, the owner and certified sommelier to find the perfect blend for your palate. If you fall in love with a particular glass, you can buy a bottle from their wine shop.

Pearl of the Osa Restaurant at Iguana Lodge

Tuesday night there's a barbecue with tiki torches, a bonfire, and tables right on the beach. Come at 5:30 to watch the sunset; it's a good idea to reserve ahead.
