Fodor's Expert Review Citrus Restaurant & Terraza
Tangy, tart, and refreshing, this ultrasophisticated restaurant lives up to its name, with an inventive fusion menu that spans the globe. Captained by veteran local chef Marcella Marciano, the culinary voyage careers from classic French escargots and steak tartare, to Japanese wasabi-spiced, grilled shrimp, to Indian chicken curry, to Lebanese hummus, with stopovers in Morocco, Madagascar, and Vietnam. Local seafood makes appearances as carpaccio slices and ceviche cubes; simmering in a piquant, red curry broth; or in the signature seafood platter of lobster, mussels, calamari, and shrimp, bathed in a creamy lemon-and-garlic sauce. Local draft beers are on tap, along with a wide-ranging wine list. Presentation is exquisite. Desserts are among the best in the country; if you like chocolate, don't pass up the divine Choco-Choco flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Citrus is now in its third incarnation, starting as a floating boat restaurant, then moving to a Moroccan-inspired mansion, and now in a more intimate, dazzlingly chic and contemporary space, just 200 meters from its previous location. Open daily for dinner only, from December to April. Dinner reservations are advised at this very popular restaurant.
