Despite its small population, Zürich is a big city when it comes to the arts; it supports a top-rank orchestra, an opera company, and a theater. This concert hall was inaugurated by Brahms in 1895 and is the home of the Zürich Tonhalle Orchestra, which enjoys international acclaim. There are also solo recitals and chamber music programs. The season runs from September through July, and tickets sell out quickly.
