Fodor's Expert Review La Taberna del Gourmet
This wine bar and restaurant in the heart of the casco antiguo (old town) earns high marks from locals and international visitors alike. A bar with stools and counters offers a selection of fresh seafood tapas—oysters, mussels, razor clams—to complement a well-chosen list of wines from La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Priorat, and the two dining rooms are furnished with thick butcher-block tables and dark brown leather chairs. Subdued lighting adds to the casual yet elegant dining experience. Try the codfish with rúcula (arugula) and sun-dried tomatoes or the baby lamb chops, and order half portions to sample more of the menu.
