Fundación César Manrique
Fodor’s Expert Review
The former home of this accomplished artist and architect is now a museum and foundation displaying a collection of his paintings and sculptures, as well as works by other 20th-century artists. The real attraction is the house itself, designed by Manrique to blend with the volcanic landscape. Built into a series of lower-level caves, with palm trees ascending into the upper floor, are a series of unusual, whitewashed living rooms. The maze of spaces invites you to walk from room to room through indoor tunnels and outdoor courtyards.
