Air Travel

Madeira is served by TAP Air Portugal, which has frequent flights daily from Lisbon (1½ hours) and London (3½ hours). EasyJet also flies to Madeira from Lisbon, as well as from Bristol and London Gatwick. For a comfortable budget airline try Jet2, which departs several times a week from various cities in the UK. The Aeroporto da Madeira is a 20-minute drive east of Funchal, near Santa Cruz. A SAM Aerobus serves the airport roughly hourly (first bus daily 4:15 am, last bus 7 pm–9:30 pm, depending on the day of the week) to and from Funchal. The bus journey takes around 50 minutes.
