Fodor's Expert Review Sea Palace
You can't miss this over-the-top floating Chinese restaurant, parked on the Oosterdok near Centraal Station. It could easily be a tourist trap, but it's not: the dim sum and other dishes are consistently fresh and authentic. Diners enjoy nongreasy pork buns and tasty shrimp dumplings—along with more exotic offerings like beef intestines—in an ornate atmosphere of red paper lanterns and red- and black-lacquered ceilings that wouldn't be out of place in Hong Kong or Vancouver. Dim sum is served daily (noon–4 pm); the extensive Canton, Macau, and Peking duck menus are available at lunch and dinner.
