Fodor's Expert Review Greetje
For Dutch food at its best, head to this homey—some might even call it old-fashioned—restaurant, where the chef takes rarely seen or forgotten dishes and prepares them with fresh, local (often organic) ingredients. One excellent option is the grilled sandwich of Frisian sugar bread (a traditional, sweet bread from Holland's North) layered with homemade duck-liver terrine and apple syrup. Service veers from Dutch tradition: it's efficient and extremely helpful. If you're a licorice fan, don't miss the fabulous licorice crème brûlée with black licorice ice cream.
